Common heating methods for pickling solutions include direct steam pipe heating, steam nozzle heating, steam heating pipe heating, electric heating elements, flame immersion heating, direct hot exhaust gas heating, and hot water heating pipe heating. The advantages and disadvantages are as follows: (1) Direct steam heating method advantages: Simple and convenient. It only requires placing the steam pipe (or a rubber hose) directly into the pickling solution. The high heat utilization efficiency of steam can accelerate the pickling process.
Drawbacks: The system generates significant noise and vibration, with suboptimal mixing performance. Both steel and rubber hoses are prone to damage, while the condensate from steam dilutes the acid solution.
(2) The advantages of steam nozzle heating method are: less noise, reduced vibration to a certain extent, ideal stirring effect, high steam heat utilization rate, and good quality of steel pipe after acid washing.
Disadvantages: It requires special acid-resistant metal fabrication, has higher costs, and the steam condensate dilutes the acid solution.
(3) The advantages of steam heating method: It prevents dilution of pickling solution by steam condensate and reduces acid consumption.
The disadvantages are: low heat utilization rate of steam, high cost of heater, heating tube occupies the effective working volume of pickling tank, and poor stirring effect.
(4) Advantages of electric heating element method: Compact equipment structure and convenient operation.
Disadvantages: High cost, potential hazards when heating tubes are damaged, and occupies a certain working volume in the pickling tank.
(5) Advantages of the immersion flame heating method: rapid heating, effective stirring of the pickling solution, and prevents dilution of the pickling solution.
Disadvantages: The equipment has complicated structure, high manufacturing cost, easy to produce acid solution overheating surface evaporation, and need to supply gas fuel.
(6) Direct heating method for hot exhaust gas: advantages include low heating costs and high thermal efficiency.
Disadvantages: It is easy to pollute the pickling solution and the equipment cost is high.
(7) The hot water heating method offers advantages: it prevents dilution of the pickling solution and reduces pickling consumption.
The disadvantages are: poor heat utilization, acid bath occupies a certain working volume, high equipment cost.
From the above heating methods, the actual use of domestic is still the main direct heating method of steam.
