After being removed from the pickling solution, steel pipes must be immediately rinsed with water to prevent the following issues: (1) It stops the pickling solution from continuing to erode the pipe surface; (2) It prevents iron salts adhering to the pipe surface from oxidizing into iron salts (trivalent iron) that are difficult to remove when exposed to oxygen, such as the conversion of ferrous sulfate to ferric sulfate; (3) It reduces the formation of zinc residue; (4) It helps improve the quality of the galvanized layer on galvanized steel pipes and reduces or eliminates missed coating.
