Anti-corrosion requirements of longitudinal welded steel pipes

1. The processed components and products should be inspected and qualified before surface treatment.

2. The burrs, welding coatings, welding bumps, spatter, dust and scale on the surface of welded steel pipes should be cleaned up before rust removal, and the loose oxide scale and thick rust layer should be eradicated together.

3. If there is oil and grease on the surface of the welded steel pipe, it should be removed before rust removal. If there are oil stains and grease on only part of the area, partial disposal methods can generally be used; if there are large areas or all areas, solvents or hot alkalis can be used for cleaning.

4. When there is acid, alkali or salt on the surface of the welded steel pipe, you can choose to wash it off with hot water or steam. However, attention should be paid to the disposal of waste water to prevent environmental pollution.

5. Some newly-rolled stainless steel pipes are painted with maintenance paint in order to prevent them from rusting during short-term storage and transportation. The stainless steel pipes coated with maintenance paint should be disposed of according to the specific conditions. If the maintenance paint is a two-component coating cured by a curing agent, and the coating is not lacking, it can be treated with emery cloth, stainless steel tube velvet or light spray method, and after the dust is cleaned up, the next process can be carried out. .

6. For the maintenance of the paint shop primer or general primer on the surface of welded steel pipes, the disposal method should generally be determined according to the status of the coating and the next matching paint. Anything that cannot be further painted or affects the adhesion of the next coating should be removed by shoveling.
