Raw Material Selection

Base Pipe Material: Select steel pipes with good mechanical and welding properties as the substrate to ensure their strength, corrosion resistance, and other requirements are met. Common base pipe materials include seamless steel pipes and welded steel pipes, with specific choices determined by the application scenario.

Coating Material: The coating material should possess excellent corrosion resistance, aging resistance, and adhesion. Commonly used coating materials include polyethylene powder, epoxy resin, etc. When selecting coating materials, attention should be paid to their composition, performance, and compatibility with the base pipe.

Manufacturing Process Control

Base Pipe Pretreatment: Before coating, steel pipes require pretreatment including derusting, cleaning, and drying to ensure a tight bond between the coating and the steel pipe.

Coating Preparation: Uniformly apply the coating material to the steel pipe surface, controlling the coating thickness within a reasonable range (e.g., 0.3-0.5mm) to ensure coating uniformity and corrosion resistance.

Curing Process: After coating application, a curing process is performed to melt and solidify the coating material on the steel pipe surface, forming a sturdy protective layer. The curing temperature and time should be determined based on the properties of the coating material.

Post-Processing: After curing, cooling, inspection, cutting, and other post-processing steps are carried out. The inspection should focus on whether the coating is uniform, free of bubbles, peeling, and other issues.

Construction and Installation Quality Control

Pipe and Fitting Quality Inspection: Conduct rigorous quality inspections on pipes and fittings before construction to ensure they are defect-free and have intact coatings.

Construction Plan and Technical Clarification: Develop detailed construction plans and technical clarifications, clarifying construction requirements and standards to ensure that construction personnel are familiar with the characteristics and key points of internal plastic-coated composite pipes.

Cutting and Connection Quality Control: Use appropriate tools for cutting (e.g., metal saws) to avoid damaging the coating; bevel processing should meet specifications to ensure welding or connection quality; control welding process parameters during welding connections to prevent high temperatures from damaging the coating; ensure threading precision during threaded connections and use suitable sealing materials; check the sealability and tightness of clamps during clamp connections.

Pipe Layout and Fixation: Arrange and fix pipes according to design requirements to ensure accurate pipe slope, coordinates, and elevations; avoid strong stretching, twisting, or collision of pipes during installation.

Coating Protection: Take measures to protect the coating during construction, such as using protective sleeves or wrapping; promptly repair damaged coatings.

Site Environment Control: Ensure the construction site is clean and dry, avoiding dust, debris, and other contaminants from polluting pipes and coatings; take protective measures or suspend construction under adverse weather conditions (e.g., strong winds, rain, snow).

Post-Maintenance and Inspection

Pressure Testing: Conduct pressure testing according to specifications after construction to check the sealing and strength of the piping system; promptly address any issues found until the test is passed.

Flushing and Disinfection: Flush the piping system after installation to remove debris and dirt; for water supply pipes, disinfection is also required to ensure water quality safety.

Regular Inspection and Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on plastic-coated composite pipes to promptly identify and address potential issues, thereby extending pipe lifespan.
