Quality Differentiation of Bridge Spiral Steel Pipes

The commonly used standards for spiral steel pipes are generally divided into various categories. In particular, spiral seam high-frequency welded steel pipes for general low-pressure fluid transportation employ hot-rolled steel coils as the pipe billets, which are then spirally formed at room temperature and welded using high-frequency lap welding methods.

How to Differentiate the Quality of Bridge Spiral Steel Pipes?

Using Hot-Rolled Steel Coils as Pipe Billets:

Spiral welded steel pipes for piles also utilize hot-rolled steel coils as the pipe billets. These are formed spirally at room temperature and welded using double-sided submerged arc welding or high-frequency welding techniques. They are specifically designed for use in civil engineering structures, docks, bridges, and other foundational piles.

Welded with High-Frequency Lap Welding Method:

For pressure-bearing fluid transportation, spiral seam submerged arc welded steel pipes are primarily employed in pipelines for transporting oil and natural gas. These pipes, welded using the high-frequency lap welding method, are specifically designed for pressure-bearing fluid transportation.

Strong Pressure-Bearing Capacity and Good Plasticity:

Steel pipes exhibit strong pressure-bearing capabilities and good plasticity, making them convenient for welding and processing into various shapes. To extend the service life of pipelines, anti-corrosion treatment has become an essential step in the production process of pipe materials.

Relatively Strong Anti-Corrosion Capability:

Spiral steel pipes possess relatively strong anti-corrosion capabilities, making them suitable for the application of modified anti-corrosion materials. This not only enhances the pipeline's corrosion resistance but also ensures no contamination of drinking water. For sewage systems with less stringent anti-corrosion requirements, cement mortar can also be used for anti-corrosion to extend the pipeline's lifespan. Ultimately, the quality of spiral steel pipes must meet the requirements of their intended use.
