Solutions to Crack Defects

Due to the significant hazards associated with crack defects, more attention must be given to the inspection of such defects. During the welding process, the first step is to select appropriate welding parameters to appropriately slow down the cooling rate of the weld. Additionally, attention should be paid to the shape of the weld to ensure it meets the technical requirements of the welding process and is unfavorable for crack formation. In the welding process of spiral steel pipes, a multi-layer and multi-pass welding technique should be adopted, using a small current to mitigate or prevent the occurrence of crack defects. When designing the welding process, preventing crack defects should be explicitly identified as a basic requirement. At the same time, welding stress should be minimized according to the welding conditions, which can effectively avoid the generation of welding cracks.
