Solutions to Porosity Defects

To better address porosity defects in spiral steel pipe welding, it is necessary to treat the weld surface based on the understood principles of porosity formation, which can effectively eliminate the influence of impurities such as moisture and rust on bubble formation. From the welding perspective, certain adjustments to welding parameters are also required to ensure that welding current and welding speed meet welding requirements, thereby reducing the probability of porosity defects. Moreover, comprehensive welding inspections should be conducted throughout the entire process. Starting from the delivery of raw materials, proper storage and safekeeping measures should be taken. Storage methods should be selected based on the characteristics of the welding steel plates to ensure they are stored in a good environment, thereby preventing rust and other issues. Careful inspections should also be carried out on processed steel plates, especially for the welding areas which require more in-depth inspections. Through inspections, potential problems can be identified and promptly addressed to improve the cleanliness of the welding areas, effectively avoiding the occurrence of porosity defects.
