The difference between straight seam steel pipes and spiral steel pipes

1. Production process

The production process of straight seam steel pipes is relatively simple. The main production processes are high -frequency welding straight seam steel pipes and buried arc welding straight seam steel pipes. The production process of spiral steel pipes is relatively complicated, and the main production process is buried arc welding.

2. Application scope

Due to its simple production process, straight sewing steel pipes have high production efficiency and low cost, and apply more in smaller welded pipes. Because the strength is generally higher than that of straight welding pipes, it is mainly used in welded pipes with larger calibers, especially in some occasions with higher requirements.

3. Defect and welding residual stress

When producing large -caliber straight seam steel pipes in the industry, the bond welding technology will be used, and a short -sewing steel pipe will be connected again to meet the length that meets the needs of the project. Due to the relatively complicated production process, the chance of the defect of the tannant welding straight seam steel pipes is also greatly improved, and the welding residual stress at the tannant weld is large, which increases the possibility of cracking.

4. Production efficiency

The production efficiency of straight sewing pipes is high, low in cost, and rapid development. The production speed of the spiral steel pipe is low, but the spiral steel pipe can use different welding pipes with different billet production pipes with the same width.

5. Production cost

In terms of production costs, the cost of spiral steel pipes is relatively high, because spiral steel pipes need to go through process processes such as hot rolling and anticorrosive treatment, and the cost of these processes is relatively high. The production cost of straight steel pipes is relatively low because the production process is relatively simple.

In short, although straight seam steel pipes and spiral steel pipes are a type of welding steel pipe, they have many differences due to different production processes. When choosing which steel pipe is used, you need to determine according to the specific engineering needs and environment.
