The role of coil feeding and uncoiling in the production process of spiral welded pipes

The role of coil feeding and uncoiling in the production process of spiral welded pipes is to enable the steel strip to rotate smoothly under the action of the uncoiler and feed the steel strip steadily into the next process. The steel strip for spiral seam double-sided submerged arc welded pipes is relatively thick, wide, and heavy, which results in a slow uncoiling speed. Vertical and horizontal adjustments of the coil on the uncoiler stand can be achieved through hydraulic control. The uncoiler for the spiral seam double-sided submerged arc welded pipe mill consists of two side wall stands made of welded wear-resistant steel plates. Each side wall stand is equipped with two hydraulic cylinders for horizontal and vertical adjustment of the coil, respectively.
