Water Quality Requirements for Cooling Galvanized Steel Pipes

The cooling water used for cooling galvanized steel pipes should preferably be clear river water or groundwater. Water with high turbidity, chroma, suspended solids, and oil slicks should not be used. Additionally, the pH level of the water should be within the range of 6.5-8. If water with high turbidity, chroma, suspended solids, and oil slicks is used for cooling, it will cause obvious contamination on the galvanized surface, impair the passivation effect, and significantly increase the cracking on the galvanized surface (cracks are prone to appear on the galvanized layer when the temperature of the galvanized steel pipe is too high and the cooling water temperature is too low). When the pH level is outside this range, it will also have a certain adverse effect on the galvanized surface. Therefore, the water quality of the cooling water must be strictly controlled.
