The pickling process is relatively fast;
There is less erosion to the base metal of the steel pipe, thus saving steel consumption;
Hydrogen diffuses less into the base metal of the steel pipe, and the impact on pickling bubbles and the mechanical strength of the steel pipe is minimal.
The surface of the steel pipe is cleaner after pickling;
The iron salts adhering to the surface of the steel pipe are easily washed away;
Pickling can be carried out at room temperature or low temperature, which improves environmental conditions to a certain extent.
Disadvantages:
The cost of pickling is higher;
Waste pickling solutions are not easily recycled;
Harmful hydrogen chloride gas escapes during pickling;
When the concentration of the pickling solution decreases, it is not possible to maintain pickling efficiency by increasing the temperature, resulting in higher acid consumption;
Hydrochloric acid must be stored in porcelain jars or glass containers, which is inconvenient for storage and transportation.
