Spiral submerged arc welded pipes have relatively large diameters and wall thicknesses, and most of them are currently cut by plasma cutting. In order to ensure the perpendicularity of the cut and the pipe body, a synchronous trolley is used to drive the plasma cutter to perform the cutting.
After the completion of the external welding, the inspector conducts an initial inspection of the entire pipe weld and pipe body, marks any defects that need to be repaired, and then proceeds to the next process. The external inspection includes the surface quality of the steel pipe, forming defects, welding defects, and shortcomings.
