Steel pipes must be rinsed with water immediately after being removed from the pickling solution to avoid the following issues:
(1) It prevents the pickling solution remaining on the surface of the steel pipes from continuing to corrode the substrate.
(2) It prevents iron salts adhering to the surface of the steel pipes from being oxidized by oxygen in the air, converting ferrous salts (divalent iron) into iron salts (trivalent iron) that are difficult to remove, i.e., converting ferrous sulfate into ferric sulfate.
(3) It reduces the formation of zinc slag.
(4) It helps improve the quality of the zinc coating on the surface of galvanized steel pipes, reducing or eliminating missing coating areas.
