27.3. What is the function of shear butt welding?

In the production process of spiral welded pipes, in order to ensure the continuous production of the production line, two coils of steel strips need to be welded together to form a continuous strip. The width and thickness of the head and tail parts of the steel strip do not meet the production requirements during the rolling and forming process, so the head and tail parts must be cut off before the two sections of steel strips can be welded together.
