There are two primary methods for solvent application on steel pipes during drying operations, both domestically and internationally: the rolling method and the chain feeding method. The drying procedures differ slightly between these approaches, as detailed below: (1) Rolling Method: First, solvent-coated steel pipes are neatly arranged on the feeding platform in front of the drying furnace. Based on the galvanizing machine's speed and considering the furnace's temperature and drying time, the pipes are placed in batches of three, five, or more on the rack inside the furnace. The pipes then roll slowly along the inclined rack toward the center of the furnace, meeting the previously dried pipes without overlapping (or temporarily resting on rotating stop hooks). When the solvent concentration on the pipes at the furnace's discharge port meets the required standard, the stop hooks are rotated to guide the pipes to the galvanizing machine's feeding chain hook, ensuring each pipe is delivered for galvanizing sequentially.
When operating, ensure the end of the irregularly sized steel pipe group is aligned before entering the drying furnace, and this aligned end should be the one that was first immersed in the zinc bath.
(2) The chain transportation method first arranges the steel pipes coated with solvent on the feeding platform in front of the drying furnace in a uniform manner, then manually or mechanically places them onto the chain for transportation into the drying furnace. During operation, attention must also be paid to ensuring the alignment of the ends of the irregularly sized steel pipe groups.
