Role of Leveling in the Production Process of Spiral Welded Pipes: Due to the parallelly staggered and overlapping straightening rolls, the steel strip passing through them undergoes repeated elastic-plastic deformation. Under conditions of large elastic-plastic bending, regardless of the initial degree of curvature, after undergoing repeated bending deformation and elastic recovery deformation by the leveling rolls, the differences in residual curvature on the pipe billet will be significantly reduced, even tending to be uniform. As the degree of repeated bending decreases, the residual curvature after elastic recovery inevitably tends towards zero, and the pipe billet gradually becomes straighter, ultimately obtaining a macroscopically flat steel strip that fully meets the production process requirements.
