（2）The popularization period of the 60-70s of the 20th century

China's steel pipe industry has been popularized and developed to a certain extent during this period. First of all, on May 1, 1960, Shanghai No. 1 Iron and Steel Plant built a φ100mm automatic pipe rolling mill designed and manufactured by Chinese technicians with reference to Anshan Iron and Steel φ140mm automatic pipe rolling mill.
In 1963, Beijing Shijingshan Iron and Steel Plant (now Shougang) trial-produced a φ89mmx2.5mm automobile transmission shaft tube for Changchun Automobile Factory on the φ102mm resistance welded pipe unit, which strongly supported the development of China's automobile industry. Since then, Shanghai Steel Pipe Factory and other units have used their own high-frequency generators to change the low-frequency welded pipe unit to a high-frequency welded pipe unit, so that the welding speed has increased from 30m/min to 80m/min. By 1970, China's original manual gas welding and alternating current welded pipe machines had been eliminated.
Subsequently, the general design of φ76mm seamless steel pipe workshop and φ76mm welded pipe workshop was compiled by the state organization and promoted throughout the country. The structure of the equipment used in the design is relatively simple, and the general mechanical and electrical equipment manufacturing plants can be manufactured, with less investment, which is suitable for the actual situation in China at that time. As a result, Anyang, Wuxi, Changzhou, Beijing, Tianjin, Jinxi, Guangzhou, Qingdao, Zhangjiakou and other places have successively produced resistance welded pipes and seamless steel pipes. The steel pipe production technology originally introduced from the Soviet Union has been widely promoted in China. Although these equipment are not so advanced in technology and lag behind the international level at that time, the popularization of these steel pipe manufacturing technologies and equipment in various parts of the country has provided much-needed pipes for China's national economic development and production and construction, and at the same time, it has also improved the technical quality of China's steel pipe manufacturing employees, which has laid a solid foundation for technological progress and production development since then.
