What is Magnetic Flux Leakage Testing?

Principle: After ferromagnetic materials are magnetized, defects on or near their surface create a magnetic flux leakage field on the material's surface. Defects are detected by measuring this leakage field.

Characteristics: It has low requirements for the surface condition of tubing and can detect defects at relatively large depths, making it suitable for identifying defects located above a certain depth from the surface of welded pipes.

Application: It is commonly used for high-quality welded pipe inspections, such as those required for petroleum piping.
